Tiger Woods moving to New York? Sad to see him leave Orlando?

Now that Tiger Woods has reportedly moved into a bachelor pad in New York, does this mean he is leaving Central Florida for good?

And how would you feel about that, Orlando?

According to Us Magazine, Tiger Woods moved into a new apartment in downtown Manhattan over the weekend. The magazine reported that a resident in the apartment building  said Tiger was “introducing himself as the new neighbor.”

There are some reports that Elin Nordegren will keep the ex-couple’s home in Isleworth while Tiger will move to the almost-completed enclave in Jupiter and make that his permanent residence.

Who knows where Tiger will eventually end up, but it appears he will no longer keep his permanent residence in Central Florida.   And I admit there is part of me that’s a little bit sad about that.

I know, I know Tiger  really never did anything for this community or took ownership of Orlando, but, back in the day before the sex scandal, there was always something special about the greatest athlete in the world living among us. Whenever a friend or relative would come in from out of town and we’d drive by the gilded gates of Isleworth,  it was always pointed out with a great sense of pride, ”That’s where Tiger lives!”

Not anymore, it seems. Even though he might  keep a house in Central Florida, he won’t actually live here. We won’t be seeing him regularly anymore at that Perkins over by Isleworth or the Albertson’s or the Blue Martini. He is a Magic season-ticket holder, but hasn’t been to a game since the sex scandal started.

Just like that, it seems, he has disappeared from our midst.

In a New York minute, he is gone.
